The Feast of the Seven Fungi
Mushrooms, For Spring? Groundbreaking!
Event Description
When: Tuesday, April 29th at 6:30pm Where: Hudson Table, 1403 Clinton Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030 Syncopated x LifeCap Farms - the special collaboration I have been waiting for all year! I am elated to be partnering with Baris at LifeCap Farms for this epic mushroom tasting celebrating his incredible products, all through a whimsical, vegetable-forward, and scrumptious spring lens. Baris and I met at one of The Libi Project's Culinary Industry Nights last May where we formed an instant connection over our passion for serving others, and even more so since he is located in Jersey City and I work in Hoboken. Fast-forward to October when I had the chance to tour the farm and get to know Baris more - I was so impressed by his knowledge, operation, and eagerness to support the community that I could not wait to partner with him for an event. While it took many tries to find the right date, we finally were able to put all the pieces together for this month, and we are honored to be creating this fabulous feast together! As Baris is growing seven different mushrooms for the season, I wanted to be certain that each one has its own moment in the spotlight, so this tasting will feature unique seven courses, all inspired by one of their defining characteristics. Whether that is their color, texture, name, or je ne sais quoi that makes these mushrooms so irresistible, every plate will take you on a playful journey that will make you wish springtime wasn't so fleeting! View the menu at the top of the page and let your imagination run wild with how you think the dish will turn out! If you have any dietary restrictions, please reach out to info@syncopatednyc.com to ensure we can accommodate your specific requests. We look forward to entertaining you at this evening of epicurean delight unlike any before! More about LifeCap Farms: LifeCap Farms is a sustainable, urban farm based in Jersey City, NJ passionate about providing local, gourmet mushrooms and mushroom-based products to the community. Its mission is to spread their love of mushrooms based on the endless health benefits they possess and promote how they can serve as a great addition to any meal or alternative to meat. They also donate organic fruits and vegetables grown off their rooftop using their spent mushroom compost. The rooftop is a collaboration with the Rutgers 4-H program where they donated ~300 lbs of produce to a non-profit called Hunger Free UIC that feeds 300 families per week in Hudson County.
